Pictured below are the Finalists at this year's Sir Winston Churchill Public Debating competition, it took place in Bucharest, Romania. The 5 team members (from left to right, Oliver, Alistair, Rashi, Alexander and Liaquat) accompanied by their teachers Mr Roberts and Ms Chernin, out performed all expectations to reach the final, where they lost out to a formidable group of debaters from the International School of Bucharest. In reaching the final, the team from St George's had to debate a number of challenging motions, defeating schools from across Romania, France and Spain on route. Considering this was the team's first competitive experience - to reach the final is an outstanding achievement! The competition was billed as an opportunity for "Future Leaders" and it would seem we have this in abundance with this talented young group. Well done!
