Year 13 Further Maths students have been using the latest software to solve some challenging problems. The three students have been studying entrance test questions for prospective universities. Hannah (who wants to study Mathematics), Yi-hua (Physics) and Nathan (Computer Science) have been using a combination of ‘traditional’ problem solving methods (pencil and paper) and technological techniques. The graph drawing program on their iPads enabled them to not only solve the problems more quickly, but also gave them a greater appreciation of the mathematics involved in their solution.
