On Friday 12th October, students from Year 8 shared their own mathematics board games with students from year 6. There were many inventive designs, some made in 3D with titles like Don’t Be Late for School, Candy Robbery, Escape the Dementors, Murder in Mathematics Manor, Karate Chop and Why That Was Foolish. One game had the added attraction of edible prizes. Once the rules had been explained, students had to use their mathematics skills to play and win the games. Everyone had an enjoyable time and declared that the afternoon passed much too quickly.
“In my opinion the afternoon went really well. It was great to cooperate to produce our final piece.” – Valerio, year 8
“It was a great experience.” – Pauline, year 8
“It was fun and I enjoyed making the game.” – Elissa, year 8
“It felt amazing when all the people flooded into the hall.” – Archie, year 8
