Year 11’s took part in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge; a 60 minute paper that tests problem solving and logic skills.
Over 200 000 pupils from schools across the UK and internationally returned scripts for the challenge with the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze. From St George’s 10 students were successful in achieving certificates. Congratulations to Yuxuan W, Ivan P, Zilu W, Alexios Vand Alistair R, gold certificate winners, also Cormac M and Matthew D, silver certificate winners, and Liaquat H, Blagoj N and Barbara G, bronze certificate winners.
Special congratulations must go to Yuxuan W, Ivan P, Zilu W, Alexios V and Alistair R who were invited to sit a follow on Kangaroo round, only accessible to the top 10 000 students. Yuxuan, Ivan and Alexios were placed in the top 25% of students thus qualifying for a merit certificate.
