‘Tis the season of goodwill and nowhere is that sentiment more apparent than in Year 4 where a number of kind-hearted children have taken the initiative to collect for charity. Lorenzo asked his mum how he could earn some pocket money to give to charity and duly helped her around the house on a number of occasion. He then donated his ‘wages’ to the Foundation KriibsKrank Kanner charity which Year 6 were fundraising for with their Christmas market last week. The Year 6 teachers and students were very touched by Lorenzo’s support for their chosen charity.

Elsewhere in Year 4, another charitable enterprise was underway! Some intrepid young ladies decided to make and sell Christmas cards to also raise money for charity. Maria, Anna, Ileanna and Ionna designed posters and advertised around the school and spent hours creating a large portfolio of cards for customers to choose from. The amazing result? Almost €50 to donate to a charity of their choice this Christmas!

St George's is so proud of these caring students who clearly appreciate the circumstances of those less fortunate than themselves and are prepared to initiate their own charitable enterprises without any adult prompting. What a wonderful way to ‘wrap up’ 2017, ho ho ho…
