Last Friday saw this year’s graduating class of 2017 alongside Year 12 students celebrate the end of their exams at the lavish Hotel Le Royal. Pride and a sense of nostalgia was ever so present in the air that evening.

The entire event was organised by the students’ Entertainment Committee. The students should be incredibly proud of themselves for all their efforts; throughout the academic year, the Entertainment Committee has been raising money to cover the costs of this event though the means of cake sales, raffles, Christmas Fayres, Easter Fayres and Valentine’s day events to name but a few. A special thank you goes to this year’s organisers Sophie and Bronwen, as well as to Alex who was responsible for the stunning table decorations and helped organise the event.

Staff and students enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by a three course meal while reminiscing about their time at St George's together.

Students gave speeches thanking their teachers for all their hard work and dedication in teaching them and supporting them with their university applications.

Students are now eagerly waiting for their exams results which will be published at the end of August. Staff at St George’s wish Year 13 all the best for the future, whether that be at university or on their gap years. This year St George’s has 26 students in Year 13, the majority of which hope to be accepting their university offers from all around the world.
